Well, I have Richard A. Clark's book, and I've read it; along with a few other books on the subject. Bin Laden began his career during the Afgannie war... as America defeated the Russians ala the U.S. congress and the CIA. In the beginning the presidency and the military were not involved. The CIA armed and trained an Afghan guerilla band that defeated the 2nd greatest military in the world. President Clinton inherited the world he lived in as President, and was right when he said he could have done more but the Joint Chief refused to support him because of lack of intel (there may have been no love between the administration and the military, do ya think?). President Bush as Clinton stated did nothing for 8 months knowing the threat from the terrorists was real. They decided to concentrate on Iraq from the get go, it was their main target since before Bush took office. I conjecture that Bush JR. has continued to take revenge on Iraq, in his mind, 1.) to finish the war honorably that his father deserted and 2.) to take revenge on Sadam for threatening and organizing an assassination attempt on his Dad, when his Dad visited Kuwait after the war. Even today Bush Jr calls the war in Iraq, a war against terrorists, yet Bin Laden and his band continue to live and operate to some degree freely somewhere, but you can bet they are not in Iraq. There has never been a link between terrorists that planned and carried out the 9/11 attacks and Iraq...Gen. Powell even lost his integrity over this issue as he lied to the United Nations about the "real" connection that the administration conocted. Fox News is known for their conservatism, and Clinton knew it when he agreed to the interview, and he certainly knew they would come after him. My guess is that Bill went to the interview fully briefed and prepared for a fight to defend his reputation...and that's just what he tried to do. My thoughts briefly...or not!
