Tell me my chances?

There has to be a way to get rid of this neck tension on both sides of my neck. I am considering massive surgery. IE: removing a mass via surgery. My doctors say I have run out of options. I remember going to see a chiropractor in high school that specialized in the treatment of the atlas (some bone at the base of the neck which goes around the spine). He told me that I had a 10% chance of recovery. My chances have only gotten worse.

New Year's Resolutions!

My car is now fixed although i think I have a blown head gasket, hard to say at this point. The good news is I found a good mechanic who likes to help me out for free for some reason. He told me if you have a blown head gasket when you take off the cap for the oil there will be a ton of milky white substance under the cap. That wasn't entirely the case when I had the blowby can set up, but he told me to remove it two weeks ago (which I did) and I just checked today and yes there is much much more of this substance under the cap. I'll probably have to take it in to him and see what he thinks. Seems like the best mechanics are always in the ghetto. Crazy nice guy, too, nice really. He's already helped me save about a thousand dollars. Back on the fishmox (don't ask why). I don't know what I would do without these vet meds. There really is nothing more satisfying than prescribing yourself medication. I am taking Organic Chemistry and Human Anatomy this quarter and next and the spring quarter will wrap up June 15th or so. I could hear back from schools as early as next month for interviews but some schools interview as late as April. So if rejected I won't know that I am 100% rejected until May. So I have to take these two classes for both quarters. Just thought I'd give a life update as it seems that everything seems to be working out pretty well. Cheers and happy holidays readers. This was a good post. I am sensing that I am getting much more serious and no longer see a need to attempt humor in every sentence I write. This may or may not indicate progress toward acceptable levels of maturity.

WOW! I couldn't stop laughing, and it's for a good cause, bonus.

The thought of playing a video game for charity sounds great on paper, but spend a few hours driving the Desert Bus, and you might have second thoughts.

In an effort to raise money for charity, comedy troupe LoadingReadyRun has been playing the infamous video game 'Desert Bus' nonstop.

First seen in the obscure Sega CD game, Penn and Teller's Smoke & Mirrors (yes, that Penn and Teller), the 'Desert Bus' tasks players with driving a bus from Tuscon, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada. In real-time. The game cannot be paused and the bus won't go faster than 45 mph. Plus, it slightly veers to the right, so you can't just put something heavy on the controller and let the game play itself. The cruel result is considered by many to be the most boring game of all time, an 8-hour feat of gaming endurance few have had the will to outlast.

The folks at LoadingReadyRun, however, have been playing the mind-numbing game for over five days, but they do have an incentive. Donors must pay to keep the crew playing, and the longer they play, the more it costs.

It seems to be working. So far, the newly re-minted 'Desert Bus For Hope' has raised nearly $60,000 for the charitable organization Child's Play, which benefits children's hospitals across the country. You can catch more info -- including a live stream of the, uh, "action" -- here.

speech

My next speech is on Monday. The way I went about choosing a topic for my first speech went pretty well so I'm following the same process for this next one as well. I brought several topics to my professor and he helped me narrow them down and select the best one. He said that a speech on natural foods over processed foods was good and that a speech on saving money was very good. So naturally I selected what he considered to be a very good topic. It actually is a very good topic to attempt to persuade the audience. There is a lot to talk about, and so little time. Only 5 minutes.

Turkey Bowl tomorrow. I'm used to playing in some water logged field near the railroad tracks in Co-town. But tomorrow we play under the lights at the University of Washington. My time to shine has finally come.

Comments

Am I the only one that could read comments all day and still be entertained? Here are a few great comments of digg readers after reading a top ten list concerning who was touted as the next MJ:

The reason there will not be a Jordan is there are few that are as intense and work as hard as he. He did not rely on talent, he took the Basketball world. He wasn't given it. He was cut when he was younger, and partly used that to fuel his desire.

Plus he could'nt hit a curve, so Baseball was out

***He didn't rely on talent? uhh, ok. Very true about the curve though.

He totally forgot about Mikael Pietrus aka "French Michael Jordan." I live abroad in Marseille for two years (during which time I successfully opened 5 Quizno's franchises and only three failed - which set a franchise record) and people would flock to games to see this "man who could fly across the Parisan air." Everyone was sure he'd go pretty sure but has never really caught on and isn't talked about too much in France anymore.

***Wow. That's all I can think of here. I don't know who posted this comment but he has rightfully earned the title, "captain douche bag/loser." Opened 5 franchises and only 3 failed. Plus, who cares about the French?

There won't be another MJ unless Scientists grow one in a lab.

***Many don't realize that we actually quite close.......

JR Rider? Are you kidding me!?!

The reason all of these will never be the next "Michael Jordan" is because they each have their own style of play. They are who they are!

***The first of many comments by Digg users who try and be unique by stating the obvious.

So who are the closest players to MJ? Sorry i was side tracked by all the fine women on the site.

***And lastly let it be noted that most users fit a certain "demographic."

Speech

I am currently taking Public Speaking at TCC (Tacoma Community College). The next speech is a persuasive speech. I proposed several topics to my professor. He said two of them were very good. I don't know which one to choose, maybe you can help me. Should I attempt to persuade the audience to save money or to eat fresh food? The choice is up to you.

"The Lamborghini then?"

The movie is a little long. This is much more satisfying.

Oogling

It appears that Google has gone down hill. Google defacto's have started a new web service cuil.com and though many have said that it is inferior, I have to disagree. The employee's of Google saw the opportunity, saw that Google was not continuing to advance search technology (probably more focused on ad revenue and their stock options) and they have capitalized.

What I am really writing about is not to talk about Google's search and how cuil is cool but I came to post about gmail. It's still expanding!! Give me a break, when will it stop?! I mean when will I need to use 6.981 Gigs of email? I can't remember that last time I uploaded a DVD quality film to my email account. Where exactly does Google have all this storage? I'm calling BS on this one. I firmly believe that if all gmailers joined forces and spammed ourselves to oblivion and maxed out our storage limits we would not reach the limit Google claims. Let's be honest with ourselves Google. No more lies.

Ozone

I'm convinced the earth is dying. The ozone is rapidly appearing where it shouldn't be: just above the ground in the air we breath. Make a conscious effort to write your senator and let them know that this is not a joke and the process of ozone destruction can be reversed if emissions are reduced from current levels to 50% by 2015. If not, I'm afraid we have reached the point of no return. Farewell all.

The worst day thus far in July 2008 is shown. I analyzed June and July from 2004 - 2008 at airnow.gov . I believe ozone levels are increasing. Find out for yourself.

Suprise!

Microsoft, probably watching in futility, had some tricks up it's sleeve as the world ate up Firefox cake. As I was enjoying a rare moment online I happened to see a little update balloon in the corner. Figuring this may be an update on a worldwide virus or attack on their perfect software I promptly clicked on the balloon and commenced downloading. I was alarmed, however, to discover that Microsoft's update was actually simply a cover on a much larger scheme. To have the world unknowingly download Internet Explorer. For some reason or another I was prompted if I wanted to download IE7. Umm, no. They should just go back to watching the world eat up Firefox cake. On the other hand, and by the same token, Firefox small development team is actually eating Internet Explorer cake. It appears a tradition has begun. They also received a cake from IE developers on the release date of Firefox 2. I wonder how it tastes? The cake looks good, but I fear it's past its expiration date and full of bugs. I wonder when they will start give cakes to the Ubuntu (Popular version of Linux) development team?

And you thought you were pissed

I'm just going to go ahead and throw this out there: I'm pretty sure you haven't gotten naked and lifted a bicycle over your head in protest of high gas prices. I anticipate they have probably already done this in Portland, not due to high gas prices, rather just for fun. For the rest of us who consider ourselves sane I anticipate we will all be getting naked when gas prices here in America rise 2.2 times to the current levels enjoyed in Europe. Yes, and I will join you downtown. Just please don't bring your camera.

Firefox 3

download by tomorrow to set the record for the most downloads for one program in one day. this is what yahoo has to say about it

There isn’t yet a Guinness World Record for most software downloaded in a single day, so Mozilla will truly have rewritten the record books if it manages to set one. The group’s hoping for 5 million downloads–not an unreasonable figure, given that Firefox 2 was downloaded 1.6 million times the first day of its release. Indeed, Mozilla’s already well on its way to reaching that goal: 1,721,775 users had already pledged to download the browser upon its release today at 10 a.m. PDT.

download now and be a part of history

Firefox is exploding..............watch it explode in real-time: death to IE counter

Follow up on DJ Augustin

He was 4 of 18 from the field and 2 of 6 from 3 pt range but did make all 4 of his free throws as well as 4 turnovers on 39 minutes. He had more minutes than anyone else on the team. After watching for 5 minutes it appeared to me that DJ was smoking crack last night with some of his "good friends." But no, let's let him play it out, he's how we got here. I'm not really sure what the coach was thinking, but....

Good job! You made all your free throws!

You suck!

...there goes my bracket

zomg. finally i know what it means. THANKS URBAN DICTIONARY!!! ZOMG!

ZOMG was the ruler of the planet XYRZON until 2451 AD, when he was overthrown by KFOP after the battle of SHMUR. the battle marked the violent end to ZOMG'S noble reign as ultra-lord. KFOP soon proved to be an incapable ruler of XYRZON, and the planet collapsed into chaos in 2453. since that day, the residents of XYRZON have used ZOMG as a declaration, nay, an exclaimation of hope. hope that one day peace shall return to XYRZON, on the shoulders of a truly worthy king.

ZOMG, i love cupcakes.
